This May 17th, we join the global community in celebrating the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT). This important day serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing fight for acceptance, visibility, and equality for the 2SLGBTQI+ community worldwide.
A Brief History of IDAHOBIT
IDAHOBIT was established in 2004 to commemorate the World Health Organization’s decision to declassify homosexuality as a mental disorder in 1990. Since then, it has grown into a worldwide event that highlights the issues faced by the queer community and promotes actions to combat discrimination. This day is about visibility, solidarity, and celebrating our diverse identities.
